Heat wave
It’s been really freaking hot lately, so the kids and I have been spending a fair amount of time outside. No major sunburns or anything, and surprisingly, I’ve been able to get some work done. Rachel picked up a reasonaly inexpensive patio set at Ikea when she was there earlier in the week. Before that, we didn’t have an outdoor table, and I find it hard working outside (especially when watching the kids) without a table. Eliminates the step of having to find somewhere stable to put your laptop when you have to run and give them a hand.
Rachel and I are working hard at balancing things a bit better this summer. Last summer was really stressful (by island living standards). Between her working 3+ days a week, me working 3 days a week, plus trying to keep Industry Interactive going, there wasn’t a lot of time for fun with the kids. We’re definitely making up for lost time this summer though. My personal goal is for one beach day a week (at least). Monday, the kids and I hit David Cove and instead of the typical sand castle building, decided instead to check out the ocean. I actually went for a swim, it was chilly, but definitely bearable.
The kids have decided that running around naked is about the best thing in the world. So they both, despite the fact that they were wearing swimsuits, stripped right down and refused to put any clothes back on for the walk home. Glad they had a good time.

My RSS feed for your site wasn’t working forever and I just got around to reinstating it – oops. I’m so jealous of your beach days. You’re spoiled!

We’re incredibly spoiled. Now, if I could just figure out a way that to make money and not actually work so that I could do it every day…
Oh well, only 35 more years to retirement!
