I hate Scoble. I think he’s a tool. My quote of the week comes from his review of the Kindle though:

Skip to about 6:30. ”Who the hell uses menus anymore?” Indeed.
In other news, I’m no longer a paying customer on any of the 37signals line up of products anymore. It’s not that I dislike them, in fact, I may go back to a basic Backpack account at some point, it’s just that none of them are perfect. For me, a perfect product would be some kind of a strange franken-product between Highrise and Basecamp. The bottom line is that I don’t feel they’re adding any value to my day to day activities, so they’re gone now.

Microsoft Office 2007? No more menus!
Apple iPhone? No more menus!
Your everyday Web site? No more menus!
Kindle? Menus!
Right. I’m a tool.
You look like you’ve used your share of menus, Robert. Mexican, Chinese, Italian…
Now, now. No personal attacks kl.
Apparently, Americans don’t understand sarcasm, Jon.
It’s probably my fault with starting the post off with “I hate Scoble”.
The fact of the matter is that I agree with him most of the time, I just don’t really like his delivery. He should spend a little more time scripting his posts so as to avoid repeating that “someone needs to get fired” repeatedly (I think he said it 4 or 5 times).
Oh well. For the record, I was agreeing that menus are dead, but the alternative in Office 2007 is almost worse.
Hey, he threw out the straight line!
The Ribbon is the best thing that has ever happened to Office.
C’mon Kim. You know what happens when we use sarcasm. You’re entering dangerous territory here.
On that note, you think that maybe that’s why MS implemented the ribbon? They showed it to a bunch of people who said “Yeeeah… that’s greeeeat”, so they decided to use it?
