I love Sandy

I’ve never been important enough to have a personal assistant. Heck, I’m often lucky if people will do what I ask them to do, even if I ask very nicely.

Sandy on the other hand does everything I ask her to, and she does it immediately (except for last night, she was feeling a little sick).

Sandy is a stroke of genius when it comes to scheduling appointments, and reminding me of stuff I have to do.

I know, you’re all dying to see a picture:

I Want Sandy: Reminders

Hey Jon, what the heck are you talking about?

Okay, enough being cute. I Want Sandy is the the latest, and by far coolest, web app I’ve used in a while. It’s like having a personal assistant that you send quick e-mail messages to, and they take care of your scheduling. It all (pretty much) takes place over e-mail, once you sign up for an account. You get a special e-mail address that you send messages to such as:

Remind me to buy flowers for my wife tomorrow at 2pm

Sandy takes that, adds it to my calendar (which I’m subscribed to through iCal), and sends me a reminder at 1:45 PM the next day. It’s awesome.

Google calendar is okay, but Sandy is awesome.

The other neat feature is “Remember”. So for miscellaneous information, you send an e-mail with:

Remember that Westjet credited me for my delayed flight.

“Remembers” are all stored nicely on a web site that you can search through.
