Smell-o-vision
My wife and I have been alternating sleeping in. Today was my day.
I was having a bizarre dream about being out on the island, and a bunch of grad students from UBC were building a massive oil rig-like structure just offshore of my parents’ house. It was completely blocking the view, and totally pissing me off. I went into town to try to track down who was responsible, and ran into an old friend of mine. She was part of the grad student group, and introduced me to their leader.
It was at that point that, unbeknownst to me, Rachel came in and put a latte on my bedside table.
Back in dream world, the leader of the group refused to talk to me until we went and had a coffee. She was insistent that the coffee was ready and we should go have a cup. It was at that point that I became conscious of the smell — which eventually woke me up.
Weird occurrence, I can’t say I’ve ever had smell affect my dreams before. I’ve occasionally incorporated sounds, but never smell.
